As lead product manager, was responsible for successful delivery of numerous new product features and defined a new product designed to penetrate a specific market segment.

  • Key contributor to the product strategy which lead to the successful acquisition of QuickArrow in July 2009.
  • Drove implementation of new product features that contributed to 40% YoY revenue growth through 2008. Primary focus in understanding market needs for Resource Management and Project Management SaaS software solutions.
  • Advised and assisted Sales, Customer Support, Marketing, Partner / Channel Management, Client Account Managers, Trainers, and Implementation Services with unique and complicated client issues.
  • Served as external face of the product. Publicly demonstrated new product functionality and product roadmaps at trade shows, conferences, and remotely via webinars to major customers, prospects and clients. Comfortable speaking in public to groups of two to two-hundred.
  • Architected GTM strategy for company releases, including coordination of client communications and logistics across multiple internal departments. Major contributor to marketing and sales teams for development of product release communications and collateral material.
  • Developed and launched new tool that resulted in 100% process improvement and dramatic timesavings for the team. Improved our release planning and road-mapping processes and led team adoption of Pragmatic Marketing principles.

WorkinTexas.com - Project Manager
Successfully managed and delivered 3 million dollar multi-year vendor-bid project. Nationally recognized, this product won the 2004 Digital Government Achievement Award and was used by other states as a best-practice example.

  • Maintained detailed project plan and made daily decisions regarding resource allocations, project scope and timeline.
  • Led gathering and distillation of all system requirements. Managed and directed activities of QA team.
  • Managed matrixed team of 10-20 resources through entire SDLC.
  • Provided executive-level status reports, contributed content to press releases and marketing materials.
  • Public face of product – performed demonstrations at conferences, trade shows, and press conferences.
  • Reviewed and approved all change orders, design addendums and final project deliverables.
  • Successfully rolled-out an unprecedented statewide training to over 5,000 users.

SXSW
Trade Show Crew Chief

March 2003 – March 2005

As SXSW Conference Trade Show Crew Chief, managed crew of 120+ over ten days during SXSW -- with pre-conference time commitment from roughly October through March. Coordinated vendor load-in and load-out for two large, back-to-back trade shows during event. Managed distribution of Exhibitor badges, assisted vendors with issues during event and served as first line of support between vendors and SXSW Sales staff. Experience with recruiting, creating and managing crew schedules, logistics planning for crew during large-scale event, and handling daily challenges that presented opportunities to exercise wide latitude in independent judgment.


Austin History Center Association
Board Member

June 1998 – August 2001

Board Member for 501(c)(3) nonprofit membership organization dedicated to the support of the Austin History Center, the local history archives of the Austin Public Library. As Chair of Public Relations committee, created and maintained website, produced semi-annual 8-page newsletter (including content, layout, print coordination and distribution), completed development of new brochure and developed collateral for major Association events.
